Pakistan Expected to Raise Petroleum Prices

Islamabad: Petroleum prices in Pakistan are likely to rise by up to Rs 9.60 per litre for the next fortnight, according to sources within the petroleum industry.
Industry officials say the anticipated hike is primarily driven by a regional shortage of diesel caused by supply disruptions in the Gulf.
Pakistan imports most of its diesel from Kuwait, but maintenance work at a major Kuwaiti refinery has severely affected supply. The refinery overhaul—initially scheduled to be completed in early November—has now been extended by an additional 15 days, leading to reduced availability of diesel in the region.

Sources revealed that only two out of three units at Kuwait’s Al-Zour Refinery are currently operational, resulting in lower output of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) and pushing global prices upward.
The government of Pakistan is expected to announce revised petroleum prices in the upcoming fortnightly review.
